The evolution of Back To The Future The Ride into True Neutral into True Neutral Crew continues! Yes, time traveling super power still in tact, but now with a bunch of other awesome super powers too like invincibility, invisibility and infinite weapons!

TRUE NEUTRAL CREW ‘#POPPUNK’ OUT NOW!!

Bringing together talents from all over the Deathbomb Arc camp, the 2nd mixtape from True Neutral Crew is now here!

The title of the 2nd release from True Neutral Crew, ‘#POPPUNK’, refers to the ghost possessing this collection of songs. Hiding beneath swathes of noise and big beat production are bright, joyous melodies and driving live drums. Quick and acrobatic rap verses are bookended with catchy pop hooks. At once both intricate and complex while still being simple and silly. While the krautrap aspirations from their debut mixtape remain, the spirit of hyperactive LA artpunk groups like Oingo Boingo and Sparks is likely behind the haunting. Is it all a riddle? Is it nonsense? Perhaps the best advice for deciding comes from the lyrics of the opening track, “It’s modern art. When you see it, see it for what it is.”

You can download #POPPUNK for free or donation at bandcamp. It is also available to stream on soundcloud. In addition, stems for all the songs plus some bonus tracks are also available! So let’s hear some remixes!!!

Daveed Diggs (clipping.), Brian Kinsman (ex-Foot Village), Margot Padilla (I.E.), and Signor Benedick The Moor continue with this strange krautrock experiment, joined by some incredibly guests: S.R. Cano (tik///tik), diss1, Boo Hiss (Books on Tape), Lauren Bousfield (ex-Nero’s Day At Disneyland), Robedoor, and Algodón Egipcio.

Totally forgot to mention. Back To The Future The Ride, which last year entered a parallel dimension and became known as True Neutral, and then came back briefly this year to use the time machine again in re-writing some of clipping.’s band history, has now used the time machine again to rewrite all of this and turn into TRUE NEUTRAL CREW. Now as three piece also featuring Margot of I.E. and Daveed of clipping. So, go ahead and try to figure that one out! While you do so, be sure to listen to the debut mixtape from True Neutral Crew, entitled ‘#MONSANTO’

If you like what you hear, there are some social pages you can follow at your discretion:

and you can download the mixtape for free on bandcamp.

Guess who’s back, snitches!!!

deathbomb:

For the first time since 2011, Back To The Future The Ride returns with a new track; a remix of clipping.’s “Killer”. BTTFtr is the photocell-triggered synth project of Brian from Foot Village.

Impose Magazine has debuted this new track with many excited words in tow. “Keeping the track’s almost acapella nature in the frame, the added keys work to stir particles of noise to create an air to exist around the hyper-real rhymes. The rising heat in the final verse turns up the gas as the action gets serious, the flow tempo heightened, and the production’s DeLorean vehicle hits 88 MPH.” and includes a little “interview” with Brian:

I’ve been working with clipping. as their publicist since the get go, so I’ve not only heard their tracks a lot, but I’ve thought about their inner workings a ton. A couple months ago we did a show together here in LA and I was just kinda rambling on, like I tend to do, and threw out the idea of recreating one of their beats only using my super new age-y Back To The Future The Ride set up. Jonathan said he’d be into hearing that, so I did this almost as an inside joke. If you a/b the original and this version, it’s mostly about funny ways to represent all the same things going. Almost a cover song, although trust me, no one wants to hear my attempt at rapping like Daveed. Is this a good remix? I honestly don’t know. It’s such a true experiment, done with all concept in mind rather than expressing my taste. That said, I do think the final movement of it works really well and hints at an interesting direction to go with making some shit in the future. That *might* be me dropping a hint.

Looks like I might be dusting off the Back To The Future The Ride time machine for a jump to early March 2013. See you there.

In the meantime, enjoy this twisted ride, “Logic Rules”

This mystery is never ending and the tree I imagine cannot fall asleep.
The things I’ve been dreaming are not suited for singing.
Had to chop off all my wieners just to squeeze through God’s door.
Now I’m at the store buying 666 more.

At long last, the Back To The Future The Ride masterpiece ‘Pronoia Sunsets’ is now available online! And for free at that!
deathbomb:

Yesterday we made the Back To The Future The Ride album ‘Mtv’ available as a free download to everyone, but today we’ve added something even more significant to the band’s online presence.
In 2010, the label Accidie Records released what is hands down the shinning star of the Back To The Future The Ride catalog. A cassette called ‘Pronoia Sunsets’ which yeilded two music videos, “Zero Ghost” and “Black Bones Inside the Sun, Pink Bones Encircling the Sun”. But shortly after this cassette was released, the master digital files were misplaced and the only way to hear the rest of the album has been by owning the tape.
Yesterday, at long last these digital masters were tracked down. So, for the first time ever, I am very excited to share with everyone a free digital copy of this fantastic album. The download includes copies of both the music videos from the album as well! Enjoy everyone!

Just a heads up that the Back To The Future The Ride album ‘Mtv’ is now available to download for free from our bandcamp page. This album, loosely themed around 80s action movies and boyhood interests in general, was originally released as a cassette on Deathbomb Arc. For those unfamiliar with the act, Back To The Future The Ride is retired solo project from Brian Miller (hey, that’s me!) of Foot Village. All music for the project performed on a photocell triggered synth and single reverb unit. Minimal in instrumentation, but expansive in sound. The act eventually evolved into True Neutral, which will be releasing more music this year.
